General Info

The chatbot "Daniel Duck" is a service provided for Elite Ducker members and other interested people. Everyone can decide on his/her own whether he/she likes to use our service or not, this is no attempt to spam you!
The chatbot is in an early stage and not intelligent right now. We will make him much smarter when time allows us to do so but right now it is just limited to the most basic features required to keep you up to date.
Do you wanna help making this duck a little bit smarter? Feel free to message DataWorm if you like to participate in the development somehow.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why got I added/messaged by the bot?
Members of the Elite Duckerz steam group automatically receive a friend request from the chatbot in the beginning. If you should delete the bot but later decide you want to use this service, then you need to add the bot on your own. Players who are not member of the Elite Ducker steam group can also add the bot to their friendlist but may possibly not be able to use all features/services the bot can provide.

Why doesn't the bot understand me?
For now the bot only supports english language. Its capabilities are currently limited due to a lack of time and people that can help to improve the bot. When time allows us we will provide the bot with new features and make it smarter. If you would like to help us enhancing the bot, please send a message to DataWorm.

How to get rid of the bot?
If you want to receive no message at all from the bot you can simply remove him from your friendlist, he won't send another friend request. If you change your mind you have to send a friend request to him. You can find him here:
Daniel Duck
If you just don't like to receive a specific type of notifications then you can tell him so when he asks you. The notifications are categorized (for example meetup notifications, general announcements, map notifications, tips for newcomers etc.). Initially the bot will ask you whether you like to receive specific types of notifications and you can usually choose to no longer receive these messages at any time. But for now you may not be able to reactivate disabled notifications (message DataWorm if you want him to activate it for you manually). This will change in future.

What data are stored?
Your steamid and your settings are stored (for example the notifications you activated/disabled). There is also the possibility that messages get stored that you sent to the bot especially messages the bot was unable to recognize. These data may be used to improve the bot and could therefore be read by developers of the chatbot. We assume that your messages to the chatbot won't contain classified personal data. If you feel uncomfortable with it we suggest you simply don't send such information to the bot or otherwise you can send a request to Dataworm and ask for deletion of your data. Stricter rules may follow in future to ensure higher privacy for all users (like anonymized data, storage of messages for shorter time periods etc.) but during this early development phase we can't guarantee anything except the deletion of your data on request.

How can I help you to improve the bot?
There are different ways you could participate in the bot development. Of course programmers are always helpful but it is also possible to help by providing example dialogs for conversations the bot should be capable of answering to. Send a message to DataWorm if you like to get more feedback about how you could get involved.
